Dr. Emily Porter, Ph.D.

Dr. Emily Porter is a licensed psychologist dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and families in navigating life’s challenges and building meaningful connections. Originally from eastern Idaho, Dr. Porter earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University, her master’s degree in counseling from Idaho State University, and her doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.

Dr. Porter specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, developmental and neurodevelopmental challenges, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. She provides both individual and family therapy, focusing on collaborative, tailored care that addresses each client’s unique needs and goals.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that healing and growth occur through strong interpersonal relationships and genuine connection. Dr. Porter integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), play therapy, and behavioral interventions to support emotional regulation, skill development, and personal growth.

Dr. Porter views therapy as an opportunity for self-discovery and empowerment. It can help individuals better understand themselves, navigate daily challenges, strengthen relationships, and clarify mental health needs. Through this process, clients can develop coping strategies, improve functioning, and build a foundation for long-term well-being and success.
