Emily Shore, LCSW, is a compassionate and dedicated counselor who specializes in working with children and adolescents. With more than 8 years of experience supporting young people in a variety of professional settings, Emily is passionate about helping children and their families build communication skills, regulate emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and foster strong, positive relationships.
Emily has extensive experience working with clients ages 4–18, with a particular focus on children ages 5–12. She draws on a trauma-informed framework known as ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) and integrates insights from multiple trauma-focused trainings and conferences into her clinical work. Emily is especially skilled in supporting children who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and strives to make her office a safe, welcoming space for all.
Her therapeutic approach combines evidence-based practices — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy — with a strengths-based and educational style. Emily incorporates creative interventions such as crafts, therapy games, and interactive worksheets to make sessions engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Building trust and creating a safe, supportive environment are central to Emily’s work. Her office is designed to feel welcoming and child-friendly, with familiar toys, games, and calming décor. She takes time to get to know each child’s interests and personality, often allowing them to customize their environment — like choosing music — to help them feel comfortable. Clients frequently express that Emily makes them feel truly cared for and heard, and parents appreciate her dedication, creativity, and advocacy for their child’s needs.
Emily’s passion for social work stems from her lifelong desire to support and uplift others. She finds great joy in witnessing her clients grow, master new skills, and develop resilience through life’s challenges. She often reminds them that “trying is the most important thing” — and that mistakes are not failures but opportunities for growth and learning.
Outside of her work, Emily enjoys creating wood décor, exploring the outdoors with her husband, going on adventures with her huskies, and participating in community events.
