At Just 4 Kids Urgent Care, we’re proud to offer fast, on-site X-rays to our patients. Unlike other facilities, which often lack the capacity to perform X-rays, you can rest assured that your child’s X-rays will take place in the same facility where they are being evaluated.
Here are just some of the benefits of getting an X-ray at Just 4 Kids:
Sprains and strains are injuries to a ligament (sprain) or muscle/tendon (strain). Common treatment solutions include rest, splints/casts, crutches, and physical therapy.
Both minor fractures and complete breaks are common in children. They’re most often caused by falls during playtime or physical encounters in sports. Common treatments include splints, casts, or surgery.
Cuts and lacerations are skin wounds. While most minor cuts and lacerations can be self-treated at home, more serious injuries may require professional treatment that includes cleaning, foreign object removal, stitches, and bandaging.
Burns and abrasions refer to heat-related injuries and scrapes. In many instances, they can be treated at home, but it’s always best to have them looked at by a trained professional who can clean them, bandage them, and prescribe pain relief medication.
Sports injuries refer to any injury that occurs while your child is playing sports. Given the intense nature of most sports, both contact and non-contact injuries are common. If your child experiences an injury while playing sports, it’s important to seek medical help.
Treatment for sports injuries depends on the nature of the injury. In some cases, rest will suffice; in others, slings, splints/casts, and physical therapy may be required.
Dislocations are joint injuries in which a joint is pushed out of its usual place. While uncommon in children, they can occur during sports injuries and playtime. An X-ray can determine the presence and severity of the dislocation. They’re typically treated with repositioning, splints, or pain medication.
Usually from sports or falls, head injuries may require rest, ice, stitches, or observation. More serious head injuries may require an emergency room visit.
